The summer term was a challenge for our nursery staff and the families we work with. In March we planned for remote working and planned the activities from March – September. This included planning the activities, videoing them so the children could get involved, searching for books that would meet individuals needs and keep children involved in story time, Then staff and volunteers spent from April to July delivering bags of toys, creative materials and reading resources to 60 families across the borough. Staff kept in touch with their key children by phone, video and socially distanced visits. As we started to plan for the re-opening our nursery staff ran socially distanced play times in the local park so that families and children could get out, stay safe and get used to each other again. A big round of applause to the nursery staff . Everyone played their part with a cheerfulness which was hoped for, but never guaranteed, considering the situation.
Now the nursery is open again and sessions are running from Monday to Friday 9.30am – 4.30pm. For any information on availability of places or to put your child’s name on the waiting list, please call our office on 0207 739 7720 or send a message, via contact form.
